Posted By maxmillan maddy Hi Guys I want to apply for this safety co-ordinator post at our local university. I am thinking of giving them an informal visit, but really dont know what sort of questions to ask when i get there. Can anyone give me a gist of what informal visits mean to the employer and what sort of questions to ask to show my enthusiam. Thanks

Posted By Pete Longworth This is an informal visit so don't ask about salary etc. Ask about things connected to the university in general. How many students are there? How many staff? What sort of courses are being run? Does the university have any specialisms or unusual courses? What about social activities? How large is the campus? You will be trying to assess whether you want to progress the application further as will the person you are meeting. I'd keep it all pretty general in an informal meeting, it's more like a chat than an interview so treat it as such but always remember why you are there. You should ask a few general questions about the job but I wouldn't go into great detail at that stage.

Posted By naveen duggal Hi,Interesting to note that you have been called for an interview for the post of Safety Coordinator. It is a certain amount of stress, anxiety for some people face before an interview team. So just be confident, calm & normal in your interview and answer the questions asked.Collect some information about the job & company/institute activities you have applied ? It all depends on the Interviewer or interviewing team, who assess the interviewee CV, knowledge and experience are suitable or match the job- description and physically assess your ability, presentation skills to coach, educate and bring safety awareness.Wish you best of luck.

Posted By Alan Hoskins To prepare for any interview, if invited, you would benefit from an understanding the safety management structure and the role of the health and safety office. Most universities delegate health and safety management to faculty/school/department heads and the central office advises, coordinates, develops policies and often provides training. Alan
