Posted By Edward Blanchard Almost 20 years in the profession with both public and private sector experience. Worked as Regional Safety Officer for a major government department. Responsible for over 130 sites spread across 7 counties. Experienced H&S Advisor with large NHS Trust. Responsible for engineering and building maintenance work on a campus of approximately 100 acres. Private sector experience as Resident Safety Advisor on construction projects. Includes engineering refurbishment of automotive industry production lines and new engineering works at a power station. Also includes construction and fitout of new supermarket and new school and fitout of large new office block. Responsible for day to day H&S management of up to 200 contractors. Duties included inductions and toolbox talks, safety inspections and audits, vetting of contractors' method statements and risk assessments, accident and incident investigations and reports, secretary to site safety meetings, preparation and revision of Construction Phase H&S plans, writing H&S policies and procedures etc etc. Holds FE Teacher's Certificate C&G 7307. Some experience of designing and delivering H&S training courses such as Confined Space Entry, RA for tradesmen, COSHH Awareness, H&S for construction managers and Basic Construction H&S awareness. MIIRSM and member of IOSH. Holds several H&S qualifications. Seeks work in Cheshire, Merseyside and/or Greater Manchester. Available from 1st September 2008.
