There are other qualifications these days not jut these two – check them out and see what is best for you. I hold the NVQ Level 4 and achieved MIOSH with it some years ago but I decided to take a Diploma also to give myself broader knowledge. I found this to be very beneficial; I did not take the NEBOSH route as I held both General and Construction Certificates and wanted to try another academic route. I undertook the Nottingham Trent University Diploma which also had an environment module bolted on to it. Hope this helps
