Posted By John Mac Carthy I'm thinking about heading across to europe for a few years and have been wondering, if anyone on the IOSH forum has gone accross to europe as a UK H&S professional looking for work, not sent abroad by a UK company, but actually looking by yourself and if you have any tips and pitfalls I would be most greateful. Thank you John JohnMacCatrhy25@yahoo.com

Posted By Mike Parks John. I do not know if UK H&S qualifications are recognised in Europe. It might depends on where you which to go to work. If I was doing it though I would approach the country's consulate here or their chamber of commerce equivelant for direct advice from them Mike

Posted By Bill Glass John, I would suggest you have a look at the previous IOSH Connect document sent out about 2 weeks ago and they were discussing the European qualification system. This would be where our UK quals are recognised in the rest of Europe. I know that IOSH, NEBOSH and some IIRSM quals are recognised in the Middle East. Hope this helps Bill

Posted By Simon Check out the following news item: http://www.thePRMforum.o...7-4c59-9192-80f4995fbb36 A new certification standard to be launched by European Network of Safety & Health Professional Organisations (quite the mouthful!) It will follow IOSH membership criteria for membership. It is due to be officially launched tomorrow (16th September 2008).
