How to make the move from Instructor to Advisor ?

I currently work as a Health and Safety instructor within the oil and gas industry. I am now keen to develop further by becoming an advisor/safety coach.
I have completed my Nebosh Certificate and half way through my NVQ Level 4.
Over the past month i have applied for numerous positions but unfortunately i have not been successful.
Any guidance would be very much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy,
I dont think you are doing anything too wrong just maybe tailor your CV to an advisor role outlining experience in an advisory capacity you may have gained during your career.
Not heared the saying 'safety coach' too often? is it way different from a safety instructor ?

I agree with Carl. I was told by a Recruitment Consultant that there is no such thing as a standard CV; your CV should be modified every time to match the post you're applying for. That way you can make it say what they want to see, and cut out the unnecessary.
Worked for me. Happy hunting

Thank you to all for your responses.
I am currently using a CV which was put together specifically for making the change from Instructor to Advisor and it seems to be working due to the interview opportunities which i have had.
Feedback from all interviews have been that i was close to being successful or i have been invited back for a second interview but didnt suceed.
Can anyone suggest any advice for demonstrating that the knowledge gained as an instructor will be beneficial within an advisor role.
Thanks again.
Andy
