Hi all
I am looking for a change of scenery, and before taking the plunge and changing jobs completely I thought it would be a good idea to start by getting involved in some freelance project work.
I am a serving Merchant Navy Master, with many years experience in developing safety, environmental and emergency procedures – and I have a broad knowledge of all aspects of occupational and operational safety and environmental management.
I have a great deal of practical experience on different types of ships in a very hazardous but ‘safety aware’ environment, and at times have been a vessel Safety Officer and Company Safety and Environmental Manager. I have written, developed and implemented Safety and Environmental Management Systems – for ISM (International Safety Management Code) and for ISO.
The type of work which interests me includes producing safety and environmental management procedures, health and safety policies, risk assessments, control procedures, induction packs, emergency response procedures, training manuals, identification of environmental aspects and similar projects.
If anyone can advise me how I would best go about finding project work in any commercial field (if indeed this type of work is available out there), please contact me at mikemeehan1@yahoo.co.uk
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
