Hi all,

I have just passed the NEBOSH Cert with a credit, will be going on to do the Fire Safety course when that starts in my local area.

Can anyone help with ideas on gaining that first role, I have worked in warehousing/manufacturing all my life so feel this is where my forte lies-i just need 1 break as it appears all of us do?

Currently in York having moved from Lincs, so am more than prepared to either travel or relocate to find work.

I have bombarded all the agencies and large construction sites to no avail?

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated

Hi CD,

Its going to be difficult.

Check out the other 'newbie' threads and pick the best bits to try.

Its not a closed shop, but with no track record specifically in the H&S role what can a prospective employer base a recruiting decision on.

You may consider getting a job in your experience area and offer to assist in the H&S from within, building up experience and expanding the knowledge that you gained on the Cert course and exams.

Not wishing to dishearten you in any way.

Good luck.

Rgds,
S

Chris,

Try the volunteering to assist some of your local charities.

1. They need the assistance.
2. You will gain experience.
3. It will look good on your CV.

Best wishes

Clive
