Posted By Dean Magee-Tingle I could really do with some advice guys.I have recently passed the general certificate in health and safety and finding it impossible to get work/shadowing even with my own company. Ive tried to find voluntary work but quite difficult due to the irregular working shift patterns. Nows heres the dilemma. In approximately 5-6 years i am permanently moving to sunny cyprus and Health and Safety is just becoming an issue out there. Should i pay for the diploma course which if i passed would obviously give me a better chance of a career in Health and Safety in the short term or should i take the degree course, maybe the international paper. Id really appreciate some feedback, if im going to have to self fund again another health and safety course i could really do with some sound advice. Thanks for taking the time

Posted By Anthony Edwards Dean, I would suggest it all depends on which field you are going to enter and where your experience/expertise lies. If you are in the building trade then plumb for the Construction Cert. Fire, Fire Cert, remembering that you will not have to complete the management paper if you have passed the General Cert in the last 5 years. The Diploma, in my humble opinion, or any other route to achieve Grad/CMIOSH would definitely be an advantage when searching for work abroad. Hope this is of some use Regards Nutty
