I now hold the general certificate, the fire safety certificate and C&G 7302 delivering learning. And still can not land a position.
Not for trying i might add, around 4 applications a week sent. So to my question is it worth going the construction cert.
NB I am also doing the specialist diploma in environmental management.

As for current position i am a paramedic practitioner

Hi Ian

Have you been applying for H&S jobs in respect to your current job role?

Looking more at Health and Safety work in hospitals?

The best place to look for work I found was with the local job centre, you just have to keep looking everyday.

Have you tried local colleges? delivering first aid courses or maybe delivering Managing Safely courses (if colleges deliver it) or other short courses.

Have a look on the county council web sites as well as lots of councils don't advertise on the job sites.

It's hard work but once you've got on the ladder it gets easier, I remember giving up full time work for just 15 hours work a week in a college!! but it payed off and I was working full time for them within 3 months.

"Google health and safety vacancies in ..... (area you live) and see if any thing pops up.

Good Luck Ian

Ian don't give up, this is a very difficult industry to crack, you need to be in the right place at the right time.

As for doing the construction cert, yes if you plan to enter this industry but no if your not planning to enter it as this will be a waste of you money if you never use it.
