Posted By mattponc Hi everybody,
I moved from France to London this last summer and I am looking for an Health safety position in the London area. I have a French graduation (2 years in HSE University) and 6 years experience as HS consultant in areas such as quarries, concrete & recycling units, construction and civil infrastructures. Please let me know if my graduation+experience is valuable in the UK, do I need local qualifications (which one?), should I do an official conversion (which organization? cost?)
Thanks
Matthieu

Posted By Mike Parks Matthieu Contact IOSH and they should be able to tell you if your qualifications are acceptable here.

Posted By Sylvain_Combet Salut Matthieu, I was in the same situation as you few years ago when I arrived in the UK from France. It was very difficult to find anything simply because my qualifications were not recognised here. The best way to start is probably to contact IOSH (as suggested by someone else too) and try to see what kind of equivalent qualification you can get. Then I would go for at least the Nebosh Certificate because it's not only useful but also give you a proper qualification here. If you want to me drop me a line to discuss (in French...) don't hesitate: sylvain_combet@yahoo.co.ukBye Sylvain
