After just recently completing both the NEBOSH NGC AND NCC and successfully passing both, I have also completed the NVQ Level 4 in occupational health and safety practise. Would it be worth me now moving onto the NEBOSH diploma ? or taking a degree in something relative to health and safety, obviously it would have to be through open university, any suggestions ?

Hi David
I think I would be putting my effort into finding a job in H&S and not upping my qualifications unnecessarily.
If not a member of IOSH consider joining.
Definitely network e.g. at your local IOSH branch meetings - this might be more than one Branch.

David,
I disagree with Peter on this one. You shouldn't underestimate the benefit of good qualifications. Maybe you have time, maybe you don't but there are jobs out there now as there will also be in a few years time.
Carry on while you're in the groove... that's how I see it.

Post Grad Cert/Diploma in Safety and Risk Management @ Strathclyde recommended! Leads to Msc. Great distant learning course. Better that Nebosh Dip.

Hi David
I am near completion of my svq4 and my intentions are to enroll on an environmental course. (not sure what one yet)
I feel this would be advantageous as more & more employers are looking for environmental experience & members of IEMA.
There after my intentions would to look at completing the post gad at strathclyde uni thus breaking up my main H&S qualifications.
Good luck whatever you decide

Hi
Try the Nottingham and Trent University Diploma in Health Safety and Environmental management. I've recently completed the course and whilst it was hard work it was enjoyable. On completion of this you can apply for graduate membership of IOSH, and associate membership of IEMA!
Crack on
