Posted By Mcham2705 Hello Martin,
If you are asked this question in an interview its best you always turn the negative into a positive. An example escapes me at this minute but if it comes back to me I will post it.
Hope this helps,
Martin

Posted By Safe System As said, make a negative a positive..
but DO NOT say things like: "i have no weaknesses" or "chocolate!"..
and avoid things like "My weakness is I work to hard etc.." that is an annoying cliche..
Just be honest! - if you have had trouble with something in the past then use that..
i.e. I found it hard to speak in front of a group of people but i have been practicing and now find myself confident in doing so...
Show your weakness and how you have or are overcoming it. But don't say a weakness with out showing a positive proactive approach to overcoming them.
You would be surprised the amount of employers that prefer an honest answer as trust me, they have heard all the cliche answers.
Just relax!

Posted By Warren Fothergill A weakness needs to be identified as an opportunity!!
As previous posters state, identify the negative 'weakness' but emphasise the positive by stating you identified it, and are working to overcome.
My weakness is usually stated as confidence....but I'm not so sure now!!

Posted By jaynie cream cakes, seriously make a joke and then say you would like to improve on a skill you already, you are then not talking yourself down but giving the impression you know yourself and at the same time are confident in your own abilities.

Posted By Abs Malik Everyone has a weakness
I would not recommend someone turning this question into somethin positive.
This is a test of charachter.
I have interviewed people, if they said someting positive instead of negative i would not be best happy.
No candidate is perfect. Be honest! you may be weak in an area but on the positives you may be extra strong in other areas!

Posted By john kemley My first question is why would an employer ask what your weaknesses were in the first place. My response to such a question would have to be "I don't know all the answers to all the question but I can find them". As for weaknesses, "I find it difficult to bend the rules when they apply to Health and Safety". It is only human to err and my objective is to make as few as possible.
