Martin,

I was in a similar situation as you have described. I enrolled on the NEBOSH National Diploma course via day release which was funded by the employer. I then left the company as I was made redundant.

My new employer did not have a problem with the day release and gave me additional time I needed to complete the course which really helped as I passed all units first time round.

From my employers perspective they did not have to fund any of the course as it was already paid for and was of huge benefit to the company once I passed the course.

The time issue was not a problem it just meant that I booked the day out of my diary each week.

I would recommend the day release option as I felt that the interaction between other candidates is a vital part of the course. You will also get to build great relationships with other H&S professionals as a result of the course.

Good Luck

Paul
