Posted By gerry_38 I am currently studying my Nebosh National General Certificate part time in Lisburn NI,(exams start in 4 weeks) and am looking to gain experience in H&S. I come from a production background and am part of the H&S committee at work. A previous employer has been good enough to let me help out with his H&S doing the risk assessments. I am determined to get a career in H&S but would appreciate all the help I can get. I live in the South Down area in N.I. but am willing to travel any distance. I am also planning to do the following course Manual Handling Instructors Course in June 09 I would love the opportunity to volunteer or shadow along with someone qualified to show me the ropes and help me gain the experience I need.. any hours any distance anytime ..... I have a place to stay in Claphan on a long term basis if it helps

Posted By gerry_38 Hi again... can anyone advise me as to how long I should be looking to shadow someone. I have had an offer to shadow a H&S officer with a reputable company but unsure as to how long I should be asking that I can do this. to do it more than one or two days I run the risk of losing my current job but know the experience will be invaluable to me.I want to make sure I get the most of the time and experience thanks

Posted By Alistair Hi Gerry, I'm from NI also. Can I ask where you're doing your manual handling instructor course and how much it's costing you as I'd like to take the course myself next year.
