Posted By peter_skelton Hi all, How are you finding the market over the last few weeks? I think I've noticed an increase in volume of opportunities. Would be interested in other's opinions on this. Peter

Posted By A Campbell SHP was pretty skinny... more course adverts than employment by the look of things... I think everyone is a little nervous to suggest there are green shoots to the economy appearing in case it changes downwards again!

Posted By CW In the last month I have only seen 2 jobs that I could apply for, one of them is stretching it a bit as well. In the previous months there seem to have been more, so to me it looks like it has got worse. Also most of the jobs that I see are based in London or the SE or are oil and gas. So no change up here in sunny Yorkshire.

Posted By Southerner For the right candidate there is jobs out there. I had the choice, pay cut I really could not afford, or swap jobs which I didn't really want to do. When the pay cut was 100% confirmed I started looking properly and within two weeks I had secured a new job. There is stuff our there.

Posted By Raymond Rapp The latest SHP looks a bit healthier on the job front, certainly from my perspective anyway. Not that I am looking...much. I have noticed a tendency for the wages to be generally lower than a year or so ago. Except for those in the public sector. For example, many positions are advertising for CMIOSH or degree qualified but only offering £30k or less. Are you kidding!

Posted By Anthony Edwards I thought there were more positions advertised in this months SHP but not that many here down in the Sunny South West. Don't have to head for the big City Lights of London, (well not yet anyway). Good luck to all fellow members who are seeking employment. Regards Tony
