Hi,
As has become quite obvious the chance of getting a start in Health and Safety are very slight. However I do still have some hope that out there somewhere I will be offered a life line by a sympathetic source who like me was struggling to get a start. I have signed to many agencies, websites and forums.
I am educated to certificate standard (which it seems is not enough for many employers) and have intentions to study to a higher level. I have some experience in the construction sector, am available for work immediatley am based in the North East (England) and willing to travel.
A start in a junior/trainee role would be ideal but as I am currently out of work I would appreciate experience in any form i.e volunteer/shadow work a couple of days a week maybe.
Thanks guys,
Jon Chaytor (hopeful)

Hi Jon
I dont know if you are interested but I spotted a trainee vacancy at certain nuclear power station yesterday.
It is the opposite side of the country to you but if you are willing to travel.
I cant remember which website it was but I am sure if you google it you will find it.
Good luck with the job hunting.

Hi Jon
As you will no doubt notice, there are quite a few Diploma qualified, experienced professionals seeking work; in many cases due to redundancy, and it seems that employers can be a bit more selective.
However there are jobs out there, and with construction experience I would have thought you would be an attractive proposition to potential employers.
Have you looked at JobCentrePlus website & DirectGov.
They quite often advertise jobs directly, and of course they don't decide on who is flavour of the month before submitting your details to prospective employers.
I truly wish you well in securing a suitable role.

Jon,
Hang on in there, you will strike lucky eventually.
Its not true no one is recruiting. Just the glut of job has gone & it's a buyer's market.
Which once you get as old as me you will realise is the norm.
