Posted By clairel Accident investigation is great but there aren't really jobs in accident investigation, the closest you will get is the role of an enforcer (as I was). Accident investigation is just a part of some people's jobs and mostly they want that to be a small part otherwise something is very wrong!!
Just a comment, what about also focusing on your experience. Lots of qualifications are great but are nothing without experience unfortunately. You may have that expereince but you're not making that clear currently.

Posted By Solidgear Well here you go then.
A Safety Health and Environmental Graduate with 16 years experience in the hospitality industry, preparing and managing human, food and HACCP components of business. I also have 4 years in the Occupational Health & Safety, based in factory manufacturing and construction projects.
Over recent years I have gained experience in consulting with management, small business and subcontractors on safety and health at work. Experience gained includes the development of safety statements; method statements; risk assessment and operational manuals. Over the past 28 months I accepted a fulltime health and safety role with a manufacturing/construction company. The role undertaken is concerned with the development and progression of the organisations safety management system from written policy to active management. To date I have maintained the successful retention of the Safe-T-Cert Certification and attained CHAS registration for the organisation with whom I am presently employed. Furthermore, I have successfully managed safety on numerous construction projects for my present employer (private business projects, NHS, HSE, education department) including an eighteen million fast track school development (Educate Together) over four Dublin sites.
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS: •Brought meaning and purpose to the organisations Safety Management Systems (achieving a sound basis from which to be inspected by state authority, other interested parties and provide physical proof of safety management for tendering requirements).
•Increased the safety level of staff and I am changing employee perception of safety and health at work, from that of corporate mitigation to genuine belief that their well being is paramount to the organisation.
•Successful career change, backed by accredited education. •Held a successful pressured management role in the food sector of the Jurys Doyle Group.
•Successfully managed site safety on an 18 million euro (Educate Together) fast track school project throughout the Dublin region without reportable accidents or incidents
EXPERIENCE:
2007 - Date Safety Advisor
•Managing the organisations safety management system (providing health and safety management, giving rise to a reduction in insurance premiums through adherence to Safe-T-Cert scheme requirements)
•Working with top management within the organisation to bring about new and clear occupational risk perception (risk management, rather than financing risk)
•Developing risk assessments and method statements
•National site audits, toolbox talks throughout the Republic and UK
•Developing and maintaining a safety training plan and managing records thereof
•Carry out routine employee induction and manual handling training
•Ensuring regulatory compliance by liaising with management and external bodies (HSA & HSE)
•Assisting in the development of safety files for clients
•Accident investigation (pro-actively engaging top management in reviewing findings to establish practical changes to prevent re-occurrence, thus reducing possible future negative branding issues and financial impacts from claims and state prosecution)
•Compiling health and safety reports to management
•Chairing the organisations safety committee
•Subcontractor safety review and liaison
Regards
Dave
