Posted By Andy Farrall Brian, The first thing to say is that it isn't easy! The factors which I suggest you consider include:
Do you have the skills necessary to run your own business?
Do you have any experience of running a business?
Funding - insurance, for example, is not cheap and it will take time before the first cheques come in
What exactly are you going to sell?
Why should anybody buy from you? (And that's not meant to be sarcastic - it's a key question. What makes your product or service more attractive than your competition?)
Who or what is your target market? In other words are you offering a general service or something needed by just a niche market?
How are you going to get into that market? Do you have contacts already established or are you starting from cold?
There is a lot of free advice available from people such as Business Link and the Chamber of Commerce but you need to do your research in depth before you commit yourself.
If you feel it would help then please don't hesitate to give me a call on 07771 538985.
