Posted By H & S Manager What would be acceptable qualifications for an associate to undertake environmental consultancy work for a company. To specifically help them towards 14001?

Posted By Jodie Read H&S Manager,
If I was looking for an associate to assist in the implementation of ISO14001, I would be looking for that person to have achieved lead auditor status for ISO14001 and would expect them to be at least an associate member of IEMA (chartered environmentalist would be even better).
Apart from the qualifications, I would be looking for evidence of experience of implementing such systems in a wide variety of industry sectors (unless the specific job was very industry specific,(which might be the very reason for engaging the specialist, and I would then expect them to demonstrate good knowledge within that industry. E.g. environmental issues associated with the steel industry will be different to those within the food industry, where knowledge of relevant legislation may be required)).
Hope that helps.
