Posted By Bob Matthews Can anyone help, although this is stictly a union/employment law matter. We want to canvass staff to gauge the support for our union to represent all staff on pay negotiations and to be recognised, could the company stop us doing this? Many Thanks Bob

Posted By Mark Preston The relevant legislation is the Employment Relations Act 1999, which amends the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992. Check out schedule 1 - Collective bargaining and recognition here: http://www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts1999/90026--b.htm You might also try searching the acas site using trade union recognition as your search term... http://www.acas.org.uk/search.htm
