The college where I work offers summer courses and employs temporary hospitality summer staff to look after the customers. I have been asked to run a two hour training session for the hospitality staff - looking at safe working practice, dealing with emergencies and what our responsibilities are to customers in safety and security terms.
If anyone has provided this type of training, or has some views regarding what to include, I would be very interested to hear from you.

I was involved in something along these lines last year, although the temporary staff were only employed for two weeks and I had only a 1 hour training time.
At the end of the day all I could do was cover essentials, most important when considering all eventualities was Action in an Emergency, I also covered evacuation and some general risk areas such as Manual Handling and COSHH. The key areas were decided by Risk Assessment and the key issues covered in our In House "Day one" induction package. Employer/Employee responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act might be a good place to start.
