Under UK legislation, an employer who allows someone to take work home has similar responsibilities as for any other workplace. Obviously both employer and employee need to co-operate closely to ensure that working conditions are suitable and that agreed controls are used. However it isn't enough for an employer to merely tell the employee what to do, and then never make any effort to check how suitable the agreed work arrangements are in practice.
