So far only about 5% of our suppliers show any knowledge of the Risk and Safety phrases, and only about 50% of the suppliers give information in all 16 MSDS sections. Has anyone any (polite) responses as to why MSDS information is not provided more adequately?

The HSC has published a consultative document proposals for new CHIP Regs. 2002 which should result in a package of proposals to change the ACOP in relation to safety data sheets so that their accuracy, reliability and usefulness is better. E.G. In regards to PPE glove fabric, breakthough times any additional hand protection measures have to be specified and specified RPE also has to be incorporated into safety data sheets.
