Posted By Dave Westhead Could any one offer me direction? Is there any guidance on the safe use of a hydrotherapy pool. A risk assessment is currently being undertaken and a couple of things have been noted. Namely is there a minimum height/age limit for the pool, taken into account that there is always a physio in attendance (the pool has a level 4ft depth) but the physio is not actually in the water. Also does anyone know of a company who supplies hoists or other devices to raise and lower persons into the water. Thanks in advance for any information. Dave.

Posted By Bryn Maidment Dave Hoist wise, try Arjo on 01452 428248 and their pool hoist is either a Mk1 or an Entroy. Floor wise, I would strongly recommend applying a product called SlipStop (I'll try and dig their number out) Assume you have the HSE guidance on pools. Regards

Posted By Elizabeth Hallows You should be able to get some useful information from the specialist branch of physios working in hydrotherpay, contact the Chartered Society for Physiotherapy on 020 730 66666 for a contact name, or maybe it's on their website. Other hoist suppliers include Sunrise Medical, their supplier who I use in the northwest is Carefree Lifting, 01942 829201 A further source of information is the Disabled Living Foundation, which has branches around the country and offer advcie on suppliers of equipment, their Manchester number is 0161 214 5959, but they also have a big London branch Good luck!
