I am reviewing a document which refers to not using fuel having a flash point of 60 deg C or less. From what I have found out petrol has a flash point of <-40 deg C. Can anybody confirm this and does any body know the flash point of diesel? or what fuels have a flash point greater than 60?

The flash point of Diesel is according to the 1 Flash Point site is 60degrees Celsius. The paper is therefore looking I suspect to the non-use of petrol engines. On larger vessels heavier oils may be burnt in boilers as fuel.
