Posted By Robert Woods There are proposals to give non union safety reps the same rights as union reps. The unions have started a red card type system where they give the employers notice that if things are not improved in x amount of time then they'll ring the HSE. A right they've always had except now they've been given a special piece of paper to write it on. This system came to being because the HSC isn't going to let union h&s reps loose with PINs. There is a pilot scheme for the roving reps going on but it's up to the employer as to whether they let them in or not. I can't see the bad employers doing that some how. if you want more details on any of these issues email me.
