Posted By Alison Dando Glove boxes come under Reg.9 COSHH for maitenance, examination and test of control measures because the hazard you are handling is in the glove box which is acting as a barrier between the user and the handler i.e total enclosure. If you are using gas and evacuation steps to put the hazard in the glove box, then upto the glove box you will need to look at other legislation if your gas is being used under pressure. Maybe someone else can help you on atmosphere chambers but a good starting place would be Reg. 5 PUWER -Maintenance, Reg 6 PUWER -Inspection Either way put all your equipment on a maitenance contract and keep all the reports (under COSHH these reports are kept for five years).
