Could someone point me in the right direction as to where I can find legislation on walkways and traffic routes. Im trying to persuade my employer to make some alterations inside the building where pedestrians and pedestrian operated vehicles meet and this would reinforce my argument

Hi Jason
I've just gone through the same scenario. Some material I found helpful are:
MANAGING VEHICLE SAFETY AT THE WORKPLACE - INDG199 (HSE free leaflet)
THE HEALTH AND SAFETY (SAFETY SIGNS AND SIGNALS) REGULATIONS 1996
(HSC Discussion Document) PREVENTING WORKPLACE TRANSPORT ACCIDENTS
SAFETY IN WORKING WITH LIFT TRUCKS (HSE ISBN 0-7176-1781-5)
WORKPLACE TRANSPORT SAFETY Guidance for employers (HSE 0-7176-0935-9).
Hope this helps you, good luck.
Regards
Lee

Jason,
The main piece of legislation to be used, in conjunction with the above, is Regulation 17 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 - Organisation etc. of traffic routes.
