Dear All,
Has anyone seen a good, simple to use risk assessment system specifically for health issues. I need something which does not rely on having to do occupational sampling as it is being used for a simple prioritisation system after a walkthrough inspection.
Any references gratefully accepted.
Thanks

I don't think one needs a risk assessment format specifically for health issues as they should be considered during the assessment process along with everything else. However, it must be ensured that the person doing the walkthrough, in your case, is aware of the health implications (COSHH, noise, manual handling, etc.) of the processes being assessed so that appropriate decisions on monitoring, training or health surveillance can be taken.

Paul,
Thanks for this. The problem I have is that for safety risks the likely outcomes are reasonably easy to predict. With health issues I have more dificulty as their longer term outcomes are more difficult to predict, particularly with little data.A simple severity versus likelihood matrix is difficult to predict. Take Carbon Monoxide and asbestos. One has a severe acute risk of death and the other a severe chronic risk of death... which should have a higher priority? You will say depends on the exposure ( I know they both have acute and chronic risks as well).
Thi is part of an academic study which I am trying to prioritise between health, safety and manmagement issues which then stands up to academic rigour.
Thanks
