Posted By Andy Dear all, Firstly I hate to ask two questions in one week, but when can we stick to one topic at a time..... So apologies in advance. Can anyone recccomend an asbestos surveying company. I need to raise a register and comply with the upcoming new duties. If anyone can help I would be very gratefull, I would rather avoid the pitfalls of opening the yellow pages. Kind of like paying £4000 for removing an old garage, did anyone see Life of Grime? Local company told me that they would have quoted a quarter of that for the same task! Many thanks in advance Andrew Powell

Posted By Steve Appleton I don’t know of any asbestos surveying companies in your area – but I thought this link to an organisation that produces on-line asbestos registers might be of interest http://www.asbestosregister.com/asbreg/FAE.asp

Posted By Charles New Whilst I cannot recommend a company in your area you could start by logging on to the UKAS web site and serch for labs/companies accredited for asbestos bulk sampling and identification. The web site provides addresses and contact numbers etc. Be sure to distinguish between the accreditation given for the sampling of bulk asbestos and that given for the identification of asbestos in bulk materials. I hope this helps.

Posted By Andy Steve and Charles, Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Asbestos register looks set to be very useful if most companies contribute. Will look at UKAS ASAP. Thanks again, and regards Andy.

Posted By Andy Dear Uday, You might like to post an origninal thread to get a response, people generally read a thread once and do not re-read unless they have 'posted' to it. Sorry I cannot help you myself Good luck and regards Andy.
