Hi Barry,
Have experience of St Johns, rather than providing training or H&S advice to them, so may be able to help with the obvious issues which you have probably covered already, but here goes;
1. General H&S Law, duties to Non-employees etc
2. Of course manual handling plays a big part, lifting, setting up first aid rooms etc
3. Electrics, have seen some old buildings used as SJA stations
4. Clinical risks, hopefully these are covered by the adult volunteers themeslves, quite often professional doctors, nurses, paramedics etc.
5. Driving, maintaining vehicles
6. COSHH, Compressed gases, O2, entonox.
7. Other risks depend on the individual station and the events they cover, you will need to know which these events are ie Motor racing, Jalopy, Horse Trials, Scrambles Football etc
8. Any Fundraising work carried out.
Hope this is helpfull as a start.
Regards
Andy.
