Posted By Barrie Etter I have just learnt that my company has got away without checking in house LEV's for years. This I wish to rectify. Could anyone recommend an insurance company that performs these checks along with phone contact Nos. AND that won't charge a bomb for the job. Any assistance would be appreciated. Badger

Posted By Jim Walker I use Nederman, on the face of it not cheap, but I believe they are cost effective particually if you don’t have any in-house skills in this subject. Be warned, this area seems to attract cowboys; there is far more to proper LEV inspection and test than sticking an anemometer into the collection duct. Suggest (if you have not already done so) getting HSG54 and HSG37 from HSE books. Incidentally, most people seem to be aware that LEV needs though examination and test at least once in every 14 months, but don’t realise that if metal dust is involved then the period it 6 months.
