Colleagues, My company is due to hold a function, in a local Village Hall, local dignatories have been invited (around 60 in total) and all in all it will be a somewhat sober occasion with tea, coffee and (hopefully) biscuits being provided.
Health and Safety guidance in relation to co-ordinating such events is available, however I suspect that it has been sometime, since it was last updated.
Any experiences / advice would be gratefuly received.
Regards

In theory the village hall committee should have carried out risk assessments to cover this type of activity.
Your best approach would be to approach them and see what they have.
If it is anything like our village hall the emergency lights are candles above each exit door - true!

Hi Patrick
Just a thought, what about insurance! in the event of an accident e.g. someone being scalded by hot tea/coffee or someone tripping up and breaking a leg in the rush for the last two "chocky biscuits"!
May be prudent to check the committee have accident cover in place.
Enjoy the day
Regards
David B
