Is there anyone else out there that has had their assignments 'moderated' by NEBOSH to the extent that they have been downgraded by as much as 40 marks? There are at least thirty students at the center I'm at, who's work has suffered in the same way at the hands of these people. Isn't a moderator supposed to 'moderate' a small percentage of papers? in this case it's a third of submitted assignments. Please nobody make reference to it being the 'NEBOSH' style of answering a question... all thirty two of us are aware of this! Comments from a NEBOSH moderator would be welcome.

Steve is quite right. I am on the same course with him. After submitting the assignment to college and gaining a 'B' 72%, Nebosh eventually sent back their 'moderated' result, - assignment referred'- a massive differance in marks. Our tutors have been teaching and marking these assignments for many years so should know what they are doing. The assignment was done in the style and language of NEBOSH otherwise our lecturers would have given much lower marks and probobly not even sent them to NEBOSH.

This happened on our course but it was found that the tutors HAD marked them incorrectly and a review of marking had to take place

Thanks for the ray of hope Ian. How was the problem solved? Did Nebosh discover it or was there some sort of complaints procedure that was followed?

Several people made complaints, one tutor was sacked, other tutors with relevant experiance are now used to mark assignments. For a time NEBOSH reveiwed all assignments submitted. Since this has happened there has been no problems.
