Our organisation is thinking of using a company called Acorn Educational Exchanges for work experience in Germany.
I have tried to get further information from them on the H&S checks that they do and examples of risk assessments that they have for their providers, but they have not been very forthcoming. Apart from saying that the do carry out H&S checks by "in-house trained staff".
I was wondering if anybody out there had more information about them or have had any experience of using this group or could reccomend any other companies.

Looking at them on the web I rather suspect that you will get no additional information. The parent company is a travel company and this is their starting and end point. Their use of ex teachers and head teachers to do assessments I am afraid does not impress me after the recent Leeds prosecution.

It went through court last week - If you recollect it was the 2 girls on a school trip who were taken river walking in stormy weather. They were washed away and drowned.
Lack of adequate risk assessment and the ratepayers of Leeds are paying the fine.
