Posted By Robert K Lewis Peter The real problem for plastic recyclers is that the original manufacturers do not always mark on the type of plastic which is used. On the base say of plastic cups you may see the recycle symbol with a number inside and two or three letters beneath, thus you can find such as PS 5, PS 7, PP 4; The PS refers to polstyrene and PP to polpropylene. The number the precise version. I have even seen plastic cups with a recycle reminder without such coding - effectively useless as an aid. You cannot mix these plastics and so you need careful sorting or analysis of each hanger. Usable ones are best re-used by others as suggested, but I am afraid broken one's are difficult unless they are marked. Bob
