Should machinery manufacturers put vibration figures on all instruction booklets and literature to do with there products. I seem to think thatb this may not be a legal requirement as of yet. Am I mistaken?

Ian,
I have evidence in a HAVS assessment report which would suggest that under the general terms of supply that.....
"The supplier of any item of plant or equipment, including hand held tools is required, under current legislation, to provide detailed information on all and every foreseeable health and safety issue relating to that item of equipment"
With respect to vibration levels, we have successfully pressured tooling suppliers into providing weighted acceleration values and details of test conditions.
I will mail you directly with the full text from the report.
Can anybody confirm the validity of this statement?
Alan

Section 6 HASAW etc Act 74
Duty placed upon Designers, manufacturers, suppliers - Sec 6.
This can also apply to Hire companies.
"Any conditions when put to use, the product will be safe without health risks"
