Posted By Mark Dawes I have just heard that a physical intervention / restraint training provider has settled out of court to the tune of £250K due to a training injury.
Can anyone please tell me who the organisation was that settled out of court and / or any specifics about the case?
May Thanks
Mark

Posted By Alan Parfrey I would also be interested knowing who this was, as we provide training in the management of conflict, (including physical interventions) from a Health and Safety perspective. Where did you "hear" this info? - it might help locate the company concerned.

Posted By A Olsen This might be the civil claim against the Bristol based trainer who was fined following an accident to a trainee engaged in rope evacuation training. Trainee fell 30ft onto concrete after the rope was cut on the sharp edge it was run over.
Suggest looking at HSE Enforcement Database - search under 'training' as the keyword search for the industry in which the offence occurred.

Posted By Mark Dawes The case was settled out of court and so no court reference is available. However, if any of you are providing physical intervention / restraint training I suggest you visit www.nfps.info and download the press release regarding the Bild Code of Practice. In addition if any of you wish to receive a report regarding the provision of physical restraint training contact me with you e-mail address and I will send one to you free of charge. Mark Dawes
