Interesting that despite their assurances they appear to be still using the same sales techniques. Last week another company in this area had a phone call on the same lines, with the caller implying they work for this service.
Even more interesting is that according to our local paper the service has recently received three written warnings from the HSE.
1) failed to ensure lifting equipment is thoroughly tested and marked to indicate its safe working load
2) unable to provide evidence of suitable training to allow firefighters to carry out their duties safely
3) not made suitable and sufficient risk assessment for the H&S of firefighters during their attendance at road traffic accidents.
In response to this a divisional officer has said 'these areas are not risk critical'.
Yet, they (or their agents) threaten to prosecute if a fire risk assessment hasn't been completed.

That's an interesting version of the criteria for risk assessment (for 'significant' read 'critical')! You could try posting this on the FireNet Forum on http://www.globalcrisisc...er.com/BBSFire/index.php to see what reaction you get.
A similar situation might, possibly, exist within a local authority where HASAWA duties have to be practised as well as enforced upon others.
