Posted By Bryn Maidment Hi Jim Your RPA should be able to provide training for those appointed to the role of RPS. The role is basically about ensuring effective day-to-day implementation of the latest regs on Ionising Radiation and your organisations local policy / procedures. Prior knowledge, experience, background and seniority will all need to be considered when appointing an RPS, in conjunction with what sources are used, stored, handled etc. In a hospital it should be someone of Superintendant Radiographer level whereas in a school it can be any old teacher from the Science department. The statutory requirement is for Core Knowledge training which used to be outlined in the Ionising Radiations Regs, or its latest equivalent - Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regs? There are a few companies out there who will provide this training . Hope this helps. Bryn
