Posted By Peter J Harvey Stuart, You never got far with this, looking at the replies. Have you got Croners Construction Risk Assessments, a good generic place to start? I may be able to email some of this? Regards Peter Harvey

Posted By sylvia I have an oldish ring-binder on my shelf called 'Risk Assessment in Construction - General Assessments', from the BEC, 82 New Cavendish St W1M 8AD 0ld no 0171 580 5588. This doesn't cover all the above but some, and gives a reasonable framework for developing others. I can't imagine it cost that much, but no idea if still available.

Posted By Stuart Nagle May I thank all the regular members for the large amount of response to my request. I think I shall have to rethink my attitude also to providing documents and assistance to those requesting it in these threads!!

Posted By Jim Walker Stuart, As a frequent "lurker" and occasional poster I have noted in the past your generosity. I hope you will reconsider your earlier post, I'm sure people would help if they could. Put it down to bad luck. Incidentally, I assume you have been on to CITB. I have access to their stuff (via a friend who works there) and most of what you want exists - requires payment however.

Posted By Geoff Burt Stuart I think you have to take the rough with the smooth. I send out a lot of stuff via emails and in probably a third of cases I don't get even a thank you. The study support forum is the worst. On the up side, I have received a lot of help with questions, a lot of useful documentation and one guy even lent me a video. The right person didn't read your posting, that's all. Regards Geoff

Posted By Hilary Charlton Have you tried getting information from other sources - we get some of our engineering information and help from UMIST, they have a centre for Civil Engineering and Construction - this is the contact: Centre Safety Officer Moira Wilson tel: +44 (0) 161 200 4245 fax: +44 (0) 161 200 4252 I don't know if you will have any joy as I don't know these people but perhaps it is worth a try? Alternatively, have you tried obtaining risk assessment forms from your Local Authority, they do civil engineering, architecture, building works - surely they must be undertaking risk assessments all the time doing exactly the sort of thing you want. Given that they are the local Council they should be more than happy to oblige. Sorry I cannot be of more use but hope this will point you in the right direction. Hilary

Posted By Philip Jones If you email me your details I can send you generic R/A for Bricklaying, Paint/decorating, Plastering, and Carpentry/joinery. I work for a major contractor and have devised the above if they will be of any help.
