As a 'competent person' and recognising my limitations, I wish to know if there are any course providers that do a hands on risk assessment course that physically takes you through the assessment process.
I have read most of the available HSE paperwork & noted what the reg's have to say, but still feel I'm missing something.
It may be just a case of uncertainty.

Suggestions anyone?

I can give you a recommendation for training as one company I know of also does follow up support post training, but I would also think that running specifics past this forum would build as much if not more confidence. Generic training courses can lead you to a false sense of security because they give a distinct set of circumstances that you will not see replicated in the workplace. Far better to go on a course that handles the process of risk assessment and builds knowledge that you then apply and take the specifics of your concerns and run it past experienced members of this site.
