Having recently been presented with a "Certificate of Conformity" by the installers of some wooden play equipment in a school, I have tried to establish whether or not the installation company have adequately addressed the requirements of appropriate standards.

The certifcate quotes BSEN 1176 and BSEN 1177, neither of which I have a copy of.

Just wondered if anyone out there has copies of these documents and whether or not they could share with me the prime requirements of them? I intend to purchase them, but could do with a more immediate response if possible.

Any help gratefully received!

Ian,

We don't have a copy of these Standards but our local Central Library in Aberdeen does hold most British Standards, many now on CD-ROM, so they can be viewed as required. However, down-side is that you must view them on site (there is an annual fee for those who might use them regularly and hence want to view them in their own premises) and any print outs of pages of interest are chargeable (10p a page or something similar). Very cost effective means of accessing unusual or rarely used Standards though.

Not to mention a good way of manageing copyright!

Have a quick look at http://www.bsi-global.co...tPdf/ISC_Playground.pdf, this will give you an overview of the standard.

Gentlemen,

Thanks very much for the info - I'll try the website first and then take a wander down the library if that dosn't help.

Cheers.
