Posted By Tracey Thompson A reputable youth Skatepark Group have requested they attend a planned event organised by the local authority on Council land, to display a demo of skateboarding and inline activities. They will supply the ramps, built by themselves and have relevant insurance to cover themselves for outside demo's of this type. On the day they plan to provide their own marshals and professionals to supervise the activity. Although the usual health and safety checks will be made on the group to ensure their equipment is maintained and that sufficient training is in place etc., my main concern is that they intend to allow members of the public to take part in the activity who may not necessarily be competent in this type of activity. Has anyone else experienced this type of event and if so, how best can we ensure that suitable controls are in place to reduce the risk of any 'would be' skateboarder from breaking their neck! Tracey
