Posted By David Brede Can anyone advise me of the maximum length of a flight of stairs before a landing is required? This is for a temporary access.

Posted By Michael Miller Wait a minute I just get my old joiners head back on, If I am not mistaken it depends on the pitch (angle of climb) the use and the width. About six on a steep pitch and ten on a low pitch. You could speak to your local building control officer to confirm this. Hope this is helpful Mike

Posted By John Webster According to Part S of the Building regs technical standards, a flight must be no more than 16 rises. Landings must have clear unobstructed length of at least 1.2 m
