Has anyone carried out any risk assessments on playground equipment and play areas especially slides, swings etc. We are about to embark on whether to do these ourselves or contract the work out.
I just need a feel of the degree of difficulty in carrying these out before a judgement is made.

Ina - RoSPA have a wealth of info on this on their web page. Their is also a HELA circular on hse.gov.uk/lau/lacs/79-2.htm and an HSE information sheet - Entertainment Sheet No11 - all of which are based on BSEN 1176 and 1177. Good luck

Hi Ian,

I have some assessments on hard copy which we had our playground inspectors draw up - if you would like, I'll send some to you? If so, let me know and I'll forward a sample to you.
