how do you assess the safe length of an extension lead? also need an example providing the legth of an extension lead which would be safe for a given load. cant find these answers for an assignment!

This info comes out of IEE CoP for in-service Inspection and testing. I'm not sure if its exactly what you want...
the length of lead shouldnt exceed the following... then ive put the loads
1) core area = 1.25mm length = 12 meters limit = .08
2) core area= 1.5 mm length = 15 meters
limit = .20
3) core area = 2.5mm length = 25 meters limit = 1.00
