Posted By paul miles Can anyone advise me of any specific regulations concerning water cooler bottles in the workplace, they are mentioned in workplace regs but I am trying to find some sort of practice for their cleaning and maintenance, such as should they be sterilised after each bottle is finished before you put in place a new one? I will try contacting the supplier but I thought that I would ask on this forum first!

Posted By STEPHEN HOLDEN We use water cooler bottles on all our sites and these are replaced, rapidly, with fresh supplies, when required by the supplier. You must provide drinking vessels(also supplied by supplier. We have never encountered any adverse comments during numerous HSE visits and have been commended on the supply of water via this method on numerous occasions. Regards Steve Holden

Posted By Zoe Barnett Hi As part of our work with Healthy Schools we provide a drinking bottle that we sell to schools (staff and students)and Council staff. The bottles are refillable, can be used ad infinitum and come complete with instructions for cleaning. At about 90p each they work out cheaper than bottled water- most people here use them with ordinary tap water which can be chilled overnight, or with filtered water from one of those jug things. The bottles have a magic "no spill" cap, and are suitable for use by all ages and abilities. If you'd like more details on the bottles or on the cleaning guidance please get in touch and I'll be happy to help. Regards Zoe
