Posted By keith wigley my girlfriend works in a shop ( trade only ) and often ends up working on her own (no other employee's in the shop ) is this practice legal. what's the law say about working on your own . what if she get's held-up and robbed. or has a fall and injured herself. regards keith

Posted By Lesley McDonald There is no law against being a lone worker as in some industries this cant be helped but a risk asessment must be done for lone working and all foreseeable issues must be addressed . lesley

Posted By Gilly Margrave The shopworkers union USDAW are currently running a campaign called "Freedon from Fear" which is centered around risks of violence and abuse to shopworkers.
