Hello everyone
Just wondered if anyone could help me.
We are putting together some information regarding reversing operations of delivery vehicles and would be interested if anyone could remind me of recent accidents/incidents that have resulted in serious injury, damage or worse.
We would also be interested in any information on the results of any court action that may have been taken by the enforcing authorities.
The reason that we require the information is to reduce the high risk from the reversing operations outside our retail premises. These premises are mostly small units situated on the small industrial estates.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
Best wishes … Stu …

Stuart,
There are various prosecutions detailed in SHP magazine, July 2003, and other magazines and also on the HSE prosecution website.
If you need more info e-mail me direct.
Regards,
John.

Hi,
I've just been out today carrying out on farm risk assessments. I've used information given to me by an HSE inspector called Mark Baker at Plymouth offices. the Freight Transport Association have some guidance "Danger Workplace Transport (december 2002) and you could look at the HSG on Workplace Transport for help. Its not difficult just follow your usual risk assessment regime. Inspectors are keen to see CCTV used now that it is a lot cheaper.
